I love* Losey's Don Giovanni - here's Don' Elvira (Kiri Te Kanawa) being dragged out kicking and screaming by the wicked man himself (Ruggiero Raimondi -my fave).

Everyone's favorite house is the Don's house: the Villa Rotunda.

I got the DVD from Overstock.com. Previously I got the tape from the library until they withdrew it. I called them up and got an ascerbic young man who, when I asked if they were going to get it on DVD said snobbily, "I doubt it's on DVD." I (a rare moment of triumph) was able to say, "Yes it is - it JUST CAME OUT ON DVD." The entire production is perfection. It's not dated after more than 25 years, and I doubt it ever will be.
