After Enj and I practiced drill a bit Young came and essayed the course. She is a natural unicyclist although I am not sure about her knitting ability. It takes practice to do both at once but a saving grace is that we unpick our knitting after each show (or we'd spend a fortune in wool) so a few dropped stitches will not matter...

Oooooh. I really like the whale ship.

As for the unpicking- we call that tink-ing (knit spelled backwards) Tinking is what causes drinking. Or vice versa.

Is Ida not coming back?

Twas was flailing, not knitting. I dropped more than a few stitches while maneuvering the course. You are lucky I did not loose a needle in your direction! I'm hardly a natural cyclist, but I am an instinctive nit-picker.
Give a woman a unicycle and you will occupy her for a day. Teach a man to unicycle and you occupy him for life!

Ida will be performing in Saturday's show - however, it's always good (in the theatre as well as other things) to have a spare. Not that Young is likely to consent to that - but it was amusing to consider.

I would be delighted to be a back-up pedaler, peddler, pied-à-liée. Oh dear, I think American orthography has got me in trouble again. That means I shall have to make rehearsal one of these days. But Saturday may pose difficulties. Oh dear, one never knows, and it is hateful to be so undependable: I often travel that road leading to hell paved with good intentions!
But now I do want a pair of fish knickers!
