Someone, somewhere, that I heard (actually I didn't hear it, I heard someone saying they were going to talk about it), talked about antimacassars, which immediately made me think of macassar - the reason for antimacassars. Its use as hair oil, anyway, was the reason for the invention of antimacassars.

Will hair oil ever return to fashion, d'you think? Seems unlikely but odd things happen.

Yes, but if the electricity goes out* and we are thrown back to the cold and dark, maybe oiling one's head to keep in warmth would be good. I could use bear grease, perhaps. Rub it all over, too. Full-body antimacassars. We live in the least smelly time in all history (although not all of us live in un-smelly places) - is that good, or are we missing out? I'd say good but I'm used to it.

*Something that happens to me frequently here, and sometimes for, say, a week, which blows. Last winter it was out for 10 days at one point, and that wasn't the only time it was out, either.

Yikes! 10 days? I'd have to rub local cats together to make a fire / stop them sh1tting on my garden... actually, this might be a good thing...

Smelly stuff - there was a great program on TV here this week about how toxic are bodies are due to the grooming products we now employ. Frightening!

If we have to use full body macassar oil / rendered pig fat, can we at least choose the applicant of our choice? I pick Kate Bush! Or Uma Thurman if Kate is busy / allergic to pig fat and or ginger fellas.

I think it was more like a week - well, I'm an artist - exageration is part of my job description. I have been out of power for 10 days, though, but not then.
