I don't use voice, however even I have tried out the lip synch function. I think a lot of people don't know about it, at least judging by a mention of it I made on the forums.
If that's you, go here: RC - Advanced - Character - Enable Lip-Sync.

ooo - TY! I had been wondering how I got to that and meant ask you over the weekend :)
How does it work then? I don't use voice either - can it be text chat enabled?

I've always used Crazy Talk (post-production) for mouth movement.
This is a new thing and works reasonably well, although "synch" is a bit of an exaggeration. It's Voice, not text. You could say anything to get mouth movement, then edit in the real audio track later.
There are Voice gestures in your inventory - I haven't tried them. LL had a contest and asked for people to create gestures - I don't remember hearing the results so perhaps not many submitted.

Ahhhh, so voice gestures will be triggered like any other and give the effect of mouth movement that can be over dubbed later? Nice...
/me goes to look at Crazy Talk...

Before I used Crazy talk I just strung mouth movements together in a gesture - see the From the Shadows machinima where Marion is on the phone.
Will do...
I check out the Library gestures and they are not mouth movements, rather gesticulations people make when talking - still, useful!
I got the beta function to wwork last night as I now have a headset with mic - I got it to record Flea ;-)
