I, the Worst of All
"The life of brilliant and beautiful 17th-century Mexican poet Sister Juana Ines de la Cruz..."
It's worth watching. I was brought up short when she said, "Able was I ere I saw Elba," however.

It's the famous palindrome that is supposed to be about Napoleon - who didn't even GO to Elba until 18-something-or other.
Not something I'd think 17th century nuns would quote - it just occurred to me though that it must've been a SUBTITLER blunder. They probably chucked any old palindrome in there in place of a Spanish one. Whatever happened, my eyes bugged out of my head when I heard it.

I, the worst of all, was watching this movie last night (because I saw it on your netflix list), and was nonplussed by that palindrome as well. I did not think of the fact that the time depicted in the movie predated Napoleon, but I thought, "Now, HOW can a this palindrome be the same in English as it is in Spanish?" MADAM, I'M ADAM!
I have listened to it several times now and it sounds to my ear like: "a ta bala sor rosa la bata" ... "from your bullet sister a pink dressing gown" *laughs till tears come to her eyes*
