I'm wandering through some old Hi8 tapes and found this of my roadrunner. I was staying at Judy's house in Albuquerque and rescued a roadrunner from her horses' water trough. Every evening after that he came to the house. I filmed this the day I left - the next shot is the airport. After I got home Judy sent me a feather she found on the grass that he had left "for me."

That super-irritating whistle was perpetrated by me. He certainly didn't require whistling to stay around, but it is rather comical to see him goggle-eyed with his hair on end when he hears it (unless he was just startled by the video camera).
I've had several birds fall in love with me - most notably a crow, but also a young bantam rooster who would hide above the stable door and fly onto my head when I came in, much to my chagrin.
