Ahhh, I've not visited Babbage or the Steamworks for so very long now...
 

Although I've spent many many years in New Babbage, I've recently begun to scale back my direct involvement in the future development of the City. The first few years I was there I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where and when I was, keeping a low profile and looking for materials I could use to re-establish a link with Kahruvel. As time when by it seemed that I might never get back and I ended up becoming one of the founders of the City when it was being rebuilt. I constructed the Steamworks to provide power for my research projects and other citizens (who had no boiler of their own). After I was finally able to re-establish a stable link with the current Grid's frequency, I've been able to move back and forth between the two time spaces rather easily. In fact, Grandma Thetan has ventured back there and established a home next door to the Steamworks. She says it reminds her a bit of Nova Albion before the Erase. We haven't been able to determine, yet, whether or not New Babbage existed in Urtahra's past and she has advised me to be very careful with my actions there. So she, and I, remain in and maintain a presence in New Babbage and continue to conduct research and experimentation in that out-of-the-way location. But I've really stepped down from any major involvement with the every day workings and development of the City. Just as a precaution.
