I never went. I read about SL in a blog post that also mentioned There - both mentions were about virtual meeting spaces as the post was a work-y one by a friend who writes a lot about work-y stuff.

I really don't know why I chose SL - I *think* that in my investigations into both, SL simply had more press and sounded more interesting (any place where ppl say wow! You can have teh sex!) is going to at least sound more interesting.

I don't know why I *only* chose SL - I think once I was in I wanted to master it and joining another would have been a distraction. I'm quite linear in my consumption of these things.

I don't know why I've never gone to There - I certainly looked into it several times and was a gnat's nudger away from opening a premium account at one time (I seem to recall you got a free explorer's backpack for Prems). In the end, I always got the impression it would be small and boring after SL. In many ways, SL has spoilt me.

Still, I'm sorry There is going. I never went, but it seemed an important place for some reason I can't quite put my finger on.
 

loved the vehicles, the hips, the lips, the blushing ... quests, driving; falling from the space station onto the rubber water and bouncing ... SPADES .... but never could BUILD or CREATE AVATARS or BE IN A LIVE VARIETY SHOW!
 

Excellent! Now if only SL closed too! :p
