FU makes me think of an early virus I encountered when I was a computer typesetter. I would be typing huge blobs of characters into a screen, and then suddenly the characters "FY" would appear and everything below those letters would be WIPED AWAY. I was mystified until I realized it meant F--k Y-u, a malicious message from a programmer somewhere.
