i was thinking it might be good to carry around a bad of catnip in case a big cat comes after me...but then i realized it might just attract them! you can't be too careful you know

It would be unfortunate to smell like catnip without having any to throw. I wonder if there's anything like that which hyenas like. Sharks like blood. Humans flock to money and freshly-baked bread. And new-mown hay.

I think prey animals are only motivated the opposite way.
