Avatars United, which was a Swedish (I think) website for avatars, in the same vein as Facebook, was purchased by LL when they were under M's rule. Now LL is discontinuing AU, which isn't surprising, really.

Well, I barely got started there. Time to rethink inworld group dynamics and communication channels.
LL is folding some of the pertinent functionality into their new SL profiles, they say, so all our dynamic group communications ;-D might end up there.
We should copy the forum threads.
The other platform avatars will not be too happy about this, methinks.

Lisa had put all the NA street names choices in the NA forums - not a big deal, really.
I had been getting machinimatographers to list themselves in my Machinima forum, just as a resource for someone looking to hire someone, but that was a long shot. I didn't expect it to amount to much - I was just giving it a good try.

When the Lab purchased AU I also started looking at utilizing it, to see if it would fit in with what the Trust was doing inworld. I suppose I'm glad to have not invested much effort in that regard. Makes me even more intent on developing our own tools and methods for supporting the Trust's group activities.
