Every once in a while I like to revisit Peter Watkin's films. It occurs to me that some people might never've seen any of them as they are old now, so here's the trailer and a snippet from the *great* Punishment Park from 1971.

"The War Game" is another great one. And Culloden. And everything else he made.

Hey! That's Sam's dad from Stargate SG-1.

I knew it!
(By [0] I meant you have zero faceblindness).

Oh! My face is purple now. Me sorry. Any way I can save face or is my pride permanently defaced?

lol :-D Did you see that blue bunny girl Enj put in her movie? And I hear you have a movie in the beginning stages - and just might need my acting services (such as they are).

This looks like an amazing film! I've never seen any of the director's work (I don't think...) but I'll look out for them now.

As for SG-1, I have to admit that as a SF fan I never could get into it - the first series always seemed to low budget and after that I never gave it another chance. I missed Atlantis too (and the whole of the unrelated DSV). Even as a Star Trek lover I missed most of Voyager and Enterprise.

What I did see, though, was the new Battlestar Galactica and that has ruined SF for me forever now - that is my new benchmark and so far only the new Stargate Universe has come close. I've blitzed the first series of SGU and loved it - so much so I set the box to record any and all SG-1s. And after trying to watch some, I told it to stop... they don't hold up well against the new stuff I'm afraid (well, for my tastes at least).

More hard SF, I say! And no 'jokey' episodes mid-season!

I liked District 9.

fockin' prawn...

I am utterly lost! The blue bunneh is a young one who got chemically altered in a 1938 industrial accident.

Why are you lost?

We are all lost, my child...

I want to ask for thoughts about improving the world -- what do people need? How can things be organised?
