The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I wanted something to fill my brain and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo did that perfectly. A harsh thriller of impeccable acting and plotting as intricate as it is distasteful, the Swedish title translates as Men Who Hate Women and they ain't kidding.
I did want to know why she didn't do something, though. Why not? All those years, all those lives.

i dint see the movie cuz i couldn't bear to read most of the book - had to skip to the end to see who, what and why, then read back a bit til i figured it out. too intense for me, and #2 i read about 1 chapter and said no way!
i guess they are now making a hollywood version of each book. how weird is that?

I don't read thrillers so I had no idea, but this film served my number 1 need of the moment: fill my head completely.
It was brutal wasn't it? I did the same thing one night. I thought the casting was brilliant. I doubt I could watch another version ( read Hollywood). As I can not now envision another cast.
Hope you are high and dry - we are getting less rain down here in Portland.

Nora Ephron wrote a parody for the New Yorker called "The Girl Who Fixed the Umlaut".

I saw the first two films at the theater and then read all three books in preparation for the third film. Larsson had planned ten books for the series, but died suddenly after finishing only three.
