I am smiling, Candide, but yes, you can see the pain in my eyes. My brother Ostherian is the mayor, and he ran nude through the tavern the other day. This has caused some excitement and may lower his prestige in the eyes of the villagers (though it may well go the other way, as they are a rowdy bunch). I feel our family has been brought low by this lack of dignity. Our Mother would be horrified (may she rest in peace); she wanted us to be paragons of virtue. She was a saint, of course (Saint Gertrude of Mor Ciche).
