Maybe I should just cancel the telephone completely. The only trouble is cells do not function perfectly out here. Or at least mine doesn't. Maybe I'll *turn it on* and see how it does.
Thank you for contacting Qwest. How may I help you today?
Me: When I receive an email saying my bill is online it always seems to show 0.00.
Qwest: Your bill amount will show 7 days before your bill is due.
Me: Why do I get an email, then? I am unclear if I have an amount due now or not.
Qwest: What is your account number?
Me: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Qwest: At this time your balance that is showing is $22.01
Me: Bill Overview $0.00Current Amount Due 05/14/11Payment Due By
Me: That's what I see.
Qwest: I apologize.
Me: Well, it makes it somewhat difficult to pay it.
Qwest: I understand. If you would like I can send you to collections so that you can make a payment?
Me: o.O Collections? Erm no thanks. That seems dire.
Me: Maybe you could put a note in my file saying, 'Customer keeps trying to pay this but Qwest website won't let her do it.'
Qwest: I will be right with you.
Qwest: I do apologize but I cannot put a not on the account. Billing will have to do that
Me: I can pay through my bank website, I think.
Qwest: Alright, Just in case would you like the number to billing?
Me: Is there a Qwest code or anything I need to do that, d'you know?
Me: I'll give it a go and if I can't I'll come back and haunt you.
Qwest: Ok,well the number for billing is blahblah and they are open 8am-6pm M-F
Me: kkty

Almost every phone provider has a way for the bill to be paid automatically by bank draft or credit card, or in some cases, paypal, so that there is never an overdue balance. It works well for me, and I never have to talk to their robots. (Apologies to Ned.)
I don't like auto paymentation, but actually I thought this was sort of funny. I wouldn't trust their auto pay anyway, since they can't even get the website working correctly for me.
Hello Steph from Qwest here,
I apologize that your discussion with our representative didn't actually resolve your concern. If you would like to email me at talktous@qwest.com with your billing phone number, billing address and contact number I can talk to someone from MyAccount about why you continue to get this unhelpful information.
thank you

Stephanie, I tried again on your website this morning and a balance was shown, which I then paid. In my experience the amount due eventually shows up, but lags far behind the email announcement. If it was helped because of my first email to Qwest last week, the chat yesterday, the email I sent yesterday, or your 133+ websurfing ability I know not, but at least it's taken care of for this month.
