Invasive species is invasive.
From another vid's description: 'The voracious leaping Asian carp, possibly the most devastating in a series of invasive species to threaten the Great Lakes ecosystem, may be a few short miles from Lake Michigan after a decade-long migration up the Mississippi River.'

I have seen these fish on tv in the Mississippi river, and grown men have been injured by them when they leap into boats. This is one truly irresponsible father. Ignorance may be bliss (woohoo, lookit em!) but he risked his and his children's lives and limbs on this little jaunt.
I'd read about them but never seen them. Boating is reportedly vastly curtailed as it's no fun being smacked in the head by a heavy fish, as well as being, as you point out, a serious hazard. Now I've seen it on video I can well understand.
