I just rang my sister to ask if she and Richard survived their 5.9 earthquake, and they did. Their house didn't fall down, apparently :-D

My sister-in-law emailed us and said they had the quake in the DC area, and that it was scary. No talk of destruction, but the Post says it could be a foreshock ===80
we apparently drove through it without noticing - we were driving through new hampshire -- many people here and even further off did feel it, but we probably thot we'd hit a bump in the road or something. we had one in vermont a number of years ago, and everyone's first thought was that their furnace blew up!
