To my mind, if we can eat cows, we can eat horses. But if the article had said "Dog Slaughterhouses Opening" I would have been horrified, whereas in some other places, dog is considered meat. If a cow abbatoir opened in India they would probably tear it down with their bare hands. Odd how in any given culture people are so emotional about certain species, but not about others. In Paris near our hotel there was a horse butchery. The sign over the door had three horse's head sculptures.
