RIP

Arlo at Rainy Day Records in Olympia (she died long ago from heroin) said that they always had the worst, crappiest shoes, and finally went to Rainy Day to order some new sneakers (in addition to records it had other things - mainly skateboarder gear). In between ordering them (and being unknown and flat busted) and the shoes arriving, Nirvana hit it big, left Olympia, and forgot all about sneakers. Kurt lived on the same east side street as my mum for a while when he was near the lottery (and used to take pot-shots at the building). In the late 80s I volunteer-gallery-sat at an alternative gallery space in a garage, which often had bands in the evening; I think they might've played there but I never saw them. ythey used to play the Capital Theatre but I never saw them there, either. I liked Nirvana a lot, strangely enough, though I was not in their usual fan age-range. And this concludes my Nirvana anecdotes.
